Inspired by the carved intaglios of antiquity, Victorian romantic jewellery, maritime imagery, and 17th-century Dutch still life paintings, Collection I explores the fleeting nature of beauty, memory, time, and place. Fading light, waves against the shore, the warmth left behind by the sun - the collection is rooted in the belief that impermanence deepens our attachment to what we love.
Many of the charms are hand-carved, including a selection created using traditional intaglio techniques. The intention throughout is for each piece to feel touched rather than manufactured: intimate and human. Collection I attempts to give permanence to the ephemeral.
